New Product Launch: Column Shoes – Revolutionizing Precast Concrete Column Connections
Views: 27 Update date: Jan 09,2026
We are delighted to introduce our new Column Shoes, a reliable solution that forms fast and safe bolted connections between precast concrete columns and foundations, as well as between precast concrete columns themselves.
Cast into the bottom part of precast concrete columns, Column Shoes are used in conjunction with Rebar Anchor Bolts or Anchoring Couplers—components pre-cast into foundations or other columns. This integrated design simplifies on-site operations significantly.
With Column Shoes, a small onsite crew can erect precast columns easily and efficiently, eliminating the need for bracing or welding. This not only streamlines the process but also minimizes personnel requirements and crane operation time.
Immediate connections are achieved by accessing the recesses in the Column Shoes, then leveling and tightening the washers and nuts on the anchor bolts. Grouting the open joint between the column and the underlying structure allows the connection to function as a reinforced concrete structure.
Engineered for durability, Column Shoes resist significant axial, tensile, compressive and shear forces, and can withstand fire exposure. Typically, four or more are used per column cross-section, depending on the column’s dimensions and force requirements.
Composed of steel base plates (with holes for anchor bolts) and reinforcement steel bars, the Column Shoes are available in three series of standard sizes: 16, 24, 30, 36, 39, 45 and 52. Each size is specifically designed to connect with similarly numbered anchor bolts and anchoring couplers.
