A kind of rebar coupler with screws that are designed to shear off at a specified torque. For making a splice between two fixed bars instead of welding. The rebars are inserted to meet at a center stop in the rebar coupler and the screws are tightened.
The tightening process embeds the pointed screws into the rebars. The screws can be tightened using a standard socket wrench or pneumatic impact wrench.
